The NKUA team participates in an international conference in Athens, “Real World – Real Education”, organised by one of the most well-known educational organisations of private primary and secondary schools (Doukas Schools). Among the keynote speakers are Andreas Schleicher, OECD Director for the Directorate of Education and Skills, and Richard Boyatzis, Distinguished Professor of Case Western Reserve University, U.S.
The conference aims to highlight the trends of Education beyond and above the narrow school environment in the new global ecosystem as it develops with the axis of the Global Sustainable Development Goals.
Within the above rationale and in a special session entitled ‘Educational Innovation’, the NKUA team was invited to present Cos4Cloud as a project and the NKUA’s contribution to integrating citizen science into environmental education curricula in Greek schools and beyond. Accordingly, NKUA will participate in the following presentations:
- Citizen Science and Environmental Education: A real-world innovation story by Maria Daskolia and Dimitris Gkotzos.
- Teacher Tools: Scenarios for school programs in Environmental Education for Sustainability by Menia Daskalaki, Anna Trigatzi and Matrona Pappa.
